Evicted West Marin Ranchers Fed to Tule Elk

Having lost a decade-long legal battle to environmental groups, the evicted ranchers were herded into livestock trailers and driven to a slaughterhouse to be ground up and mixed with grain. By this morning they'd been completely consumed by hungry Tule Elk after being placed in wildlife troughs overnight. It was a happy ending to a bitter fight. “The families who lost their homes and livelihoods were upset — understandably. But that’s no longer the case,” said the lead counsel for the Nature Conservancy. As a bonus, he added, “Ranchers are very high in protein.”
