Squatter Not Really Feeling Your Space

"It's not working," man in your home reports

The squatter who burrowed into your home while you were out has some notes on your "whole sofa situation," as he calls it, along with several other design choices. "There’s nothing wrong with this couch, in the sense that it is perfectly legal to own," said the man, who has already changed the locks and set up PG&E. "But just so you know, it’s giving Ethan Allen."

There was also some feedback on your overhead lighting. "I’m sorry, are we in a hospital?" he said, asking if you have any affiliation with the Mayo Clinic. "Like, if we’re not curing cancer in here maybe we could do something a little more moody," he added. As he began rummaging through your personal belongings ("random") and clothing ("why?"), it became clear that none of this was going to work for him.

The good news is that renovations have begun. His vision for the space is more minimalist, with a goal of allowing a few bold pieces to pop. "We are starting from zero, but I'm not throwing everything away," he explained. "I’m thinking we use some of this tacky furniture to barricade the door."
